Research and Inspiration
Zonal design that is multifunctional
Today’s multi-functional home/office benefit from floor-to-ceiling open shelving to maximise storage, dedicated multi-height workspaces and built-in media units.
These retreats can also offer a cosy library zone so you can shut down after work, to relax and unwind in complete comfort.
Mixed use shelving with targeted lightening
Integrated storage means designing for unsightly cables, stationery capacity and concealed lightning. During this ‘IMAGINE’ phase, open shelving and sympathetic home decor (neutral paint colours and natural oak) guided design decisions.
With a mix of open and close storage there was a focus on productively and relaxation. There is that bedroom personal aesthetic still available but enabling a working environment adjustable desk height, multiplug and task lighting all clicked the right vibe into place.
Planning
Dynamic colours
Study furniture needs to serve a practical function, that doesn’t mean you should compromise on style. Adding a splash of colour and inspired decorative touches can create a more enjoyable and motivating atmosphere for work.
Clear mind, clear direction
Built-in storage options for both functional and decorative purposes can also help you keep a clear mind. Hide unwanted clutter and organise paperwork. Display books and meaningful mementoes by using a mixture of open and closed shelving, allowing you to utilise every last inch of space.
From modular to clean white lines
Creating a functional home study that is both stylish and consistent with the current interior design is a challenge. Comfort, storage space and natural light drive the design decisions. A white canvas backdrop allowed for personal touches with pops of colour throughout.
Create
Creating that perfect and professional work environment involves maximising space and enabling the design to accommodate awkward corners, wall-to-wall design touches and open shelving.
For city living, space is at a premium.
A home study can help to create a dedicated space for work or study. Urban living can create a busy and noisy environment. A home study can provide that sanctuary, a quiet space where you can focus on your work or studies without distractions.
This client needed a distraction-free environment where you can focus on work and employ multiple use furniture and layout. Small space can be both a challenge and an opportunity, hybrid furniture can save space and allow for different activities or room use. i.e sofa bed that can also be used as a guest bed.
